One Day in Florence, Italy trip EP 2 : https://th.readme.me/p/17862

Road trip to Tuscany, Italy trip ตอนที่ 3 : https://th.readme.me/p/18346

This trip I would like to start with landscape from the train in this video.

It took time 3-4 hours by train from Florence to Venice depends on speed of train that you selected.

About Venice, It is situated across a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by 400 bridges. The islands are located in the shallow Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay that lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave rivers (more exactly between the Brenta and the Sile). Parts of Venice are renowned for the beauty of their settings, their architecture, and artwork. The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We arrived Venice at night.

We checked in at hotel and found Chinese restaurant to eat. Chinese restaurant not difficult to find even in Venice, Italy. But this city is different because there is table charge, make the meal more expensive.

Geloto ice cream in Venice so yummy and has many flavors, especially this ice cream shop.

We stayed at Universo E Nord, hotel in Venice for 3 night, it is located in good location, can walk from train station and good place to stay for exploring Venice,

Day 2 in Venice, after finished breakfast and then we went for a work to see around this city of canals.

Graffiti in Venice.

The gondola is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat. Ride Gondola is one of famous activity in Venice but the price is kind of expensive. It starts with 80 Euro or 3,100 THB so if you want to save money you can skip this activity and take water bus to see other islands near Venice instead like us.

Ponte di Rialto is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy and is now a significant tourist attraction in the city.

Masks in Venice have several distinct styles that they are worn in the Venice Carnival, some with identifying names. People with different occupations wore different masks. Masks have always been an important feature of the Venetian carnival. Traditionally people were allowed to wear them between the festival of St. Stephen's Day, December 26 and the end of the carnival season at midnight of Shrove Tuesday.

St. Mark's Square or Piazza San Marco is the principal public square of Venice, Italy, The Square is dominated at its eastern end by the great church of St Mark.

The west facade of St Mark's basilica.

Bridge of Sighs, the view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge's name, given by Lord Byron as a translation from the Italian "Ponte dei sospiri" in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells. In reality, the days of inquisitions and summary executions were over by the time the bridge was built, and the cells under the palace roof were occupied mostly by small-time criminals. In addition, little could be seen from inside the bridge due to the stone grills covering the windows.

If you want to travel to other islands near city center of Venice, you can buy days ticket of water bus, it can save your money and easy, just have to check schedule and plan about which islands you want to see.

I took video to show you the view from water bus in Venice when we went to visit other islands.

The first island we visited is Murano.

Murano is a series of islands linked by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon, lies about 1.5 kilometres north of Venice. It is famous for its glass making here.

Next island was Torcello, a sparsely populated island at the northern end of the Venetian Lagoon. It was a town with a cathedral and bishops before St Mark's Basilica was built.

Central Torcello, with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Church of Santa Fosca.

Grapes farm.

Ponte del Diavolo

The last island on day 2nd in Venice we visited Lido or Venice Lido island, an 11-kilometre long sandbar in Venice, it is home to about 20,000 residents. The Venice Film Festival takes place at the Lido every September.

Hotel Hungaria Ausonia, inside this hotel there is Thai Wellness Center with a SPA, officially recognized by the Government in Bangkok for its rigorously respect for the Thai standard in terms of furnishings, rituals and treatments also the staff, originally from Thailand. Really interesting.

Lido beach.

After we finished 3 islands, and then we went back to hotel in city center of Venice.

Next island was Giudecca. Giudecca was historically an area of large palaces with gardens, the island became an industrial area in the early 20th century with shipyards and factories, in addition to a film studio.

Good quotes in front of gallery.

The island was the home of a huge flour mill, the Molino Stucky, which has been converted into a luxury hotel and apartment complex. At the other end of Giudecca is the famous five-star Cipriani hotel with large private gardens and salt-water pool.

After Giudecca we went back to hotel early because we need to pack for early flight on the next day include my flight back to Bangkok. So spaghetti carbonara is my last dinner in Venice, Itall

On the next early morning I flew from Venice to Rome and took flight from Rome to Bangkok, stop over to connect flight in Helsinki again.

Bye Bye for my Italy trip, Hope to see you soon in my next blog.
