I vividly remember that night. I was in the sitting room, coming up with a new article for my blog. Few minutes later, I felt the need to check my mail box. Boom!

"Congratulations! You have been officially selected to be one of our 44 Finalists to join the Thailand Village Academy Competition!"

I was so filled with joy that I couldn't contain myself.

Fast forward... I arrived in Bangkok then, the hotel. A few hours later, it was the official opening ceremony. It finally dawned on me that it was actually real haha. I met other outstanding young bloggers and story curators from different parts of the world.

Fast forward again... My Thai partner, tour guide and I got ready and drove down to Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok to board our flight to Nakhon Si Thammarat, a province in Southern Bangkok.

After getting our luggage, we drove to Mandy Nok Hotel, a hotel which I highly recommend: delicious meals, warm reception and beautiful paintings among other things.

We had an amazing dinner (authentic southern Thai cuisine) at Krua Nay Nang. I got to try the melinjo with scrambled eggs, rice with clear water soup and pork, tasty tamarind sauce with cashew nuts etc. Super filling!

We finally got enough time to rest, yaaay! I was super excited about the next day and although I needed to rest well, I just couldn't. I ended up sleeping for only two hours and a half :(

Early in the morning, we set out to the temple to give special gifts to the monks; people I consider as rare because they sacrifice a lot for the causes which they believe in.

After having lunch and a couple of other activities like craftsmanship and making beautiful artworks, we left for Phrom Lok Cultural Tourism Community.

On our arrival, we were welcomed by the locals and got to learn about the history of the village. Afterwards, we got to eat a lot of food which I haven't yet recovered from haha.

The real adventure begins tomorrow! You don't want to miss out. Watch this space :)
