10 Amazing Places in Kanchanaburi!
That people see me travel so often, some ask me for my favorite province. My answer is Kanchanaburi Province.
Today I collect some amazing places in Kanchanaburi Province as a choice for you guys in case you can't travel far or don't want to. I can say that Kanchanaburi Province can be a great choice for you.
It is such a diverse province. It has so many things to offer and although I have been there several times, there're still many more waiting for me to explore.

Ok, let's come back to our travel, and here are the places I have for you today:
1. Mon Bridge, Sangkhlaburi District
Sangkhlaburi is such a slow life town. It's the first place that I traveled to alone and then several trips happened after that until today.
The symbol of Sangkhlaburi can be nothing but Mon Bridge or the official name as Uttama Nusorn Bridge.
It is the wooden bridge crossing Sangkalia River towards Mon village. It is the longest wooden bridge in Thailand and second largest in the world after U Bein Bridge in Myanmar. It's the place of local unity and where the tourists like to come for photography, alms offering and enjoying way of life of Mon's people.
The best time to visit is the morning and evening. Why? Because it'd be hot during the daytime, hehe.
Apart from this, there're other interesting places nearby like Bodh Gaya Chedi (the replica one), Wat Wangwiwekaram, Wat Tainam which is the old Wat Wangwiwekaram, Nopphibun Waterfall, and a chill rafting at the beginning of Sangkalia River.

2. Kroeng Kra Via Waterfall, Sangkhlaburi District
Kroeng Kra Via Waterfall is located on the main road towards downtown Sangkhlaburi District. It's also situated right besides the parking and thus accessible by foot. It is such a beautiful and shady waterfall. The water is clear and cool and we can swim around. There're also restaurants, souvenir shops nearby.
Indeed, it's another great stop.
3. Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall, Srinagarindra Dam National Park, Si Sawat District
Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall is located in Srinagarindra Dam National Park and known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand.
It is a limestone waterfall, making out of Huai Mae Khamin stream. The water is quite green while the water at Erawan Waterfall is rather blue. Certainly, each of them have their own unique beauty.
It has 7 tiers and a total of 2,270 meter long. The first to seventh tier are called as follow: Dong Wan, Man Khamin, Wang Napha, Chat Kaeo, Lai Chon Long, Dong Phi Sua, Rom Klao.
There's also a natural trail at the National Park and if you are interested, you may inquire from the staff at the tourist information center.
There're houses, parking, tenting area, bathroom, toilets, restaurants, and shops which open from 07.00-18.00.
The tourists can make the reservation for the National Park accommodation on a person or the website at http://www.dnp.go.th/
The National Park entrance fee has been adjusted since 1st February 2015.
Thai tourist: children is 50 THB and adult is 100 THB.
Foreign tourist: children is 200 THB and adult is 300 THB.
The tenting fee is 60 THB per night.
On the 13th March 2017, the National Park has temporarily closed this place due to the drought. Please have the information ready before you go. But I think it'll be beautiful again in rainy season.

4. Erawan Waterfall, Erawan National Park, Si Sawat District
It is so easy to travel here. We can take the van to Kanchanaburi Bus Station and take the bus here.
The National Park entrance fee for Thai tourist is 50 THB for children and 100 THB for adult.
For foreigners, the children is 200 THB and adult is 300 THB.
The first to the seventh tier have the following names: Lai Khung Rang, Wang Matcha, Pha Namtok, Ook Nang Phisua, Bua Mailong, Dong Phruksa, Phupha Erawan.
It's also quite easy walking up. There're passage and walkway which is quite convenient.
But but...... actually, it's getting harder as you go up, especially on the 7 tier. Let's try it our yourself!
5. Srinagarind Dam, Si Sawat District
(Formerly known as Chaonen Dam)
It is the first multi-purpose dam built in the Mae Klong River Development Project.
It is an embankment dam on the Khwae Yai River, Chaonen Village, Tha Kradan Sub-District, Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi Province.
It is the 8th out of 17 dams built by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) in order to benefit various aspects as well as to improve people's quality of lives and promoting this place to become a beautiful tourist attraction.
Srinagarind Dam has such a beautiful landscape that makes it an ideal place for relaxing, chilling, and enjoying the view. The parking is convenient here too.
6. Thong Pha Phum National Park, Traveling in the rainy season into the midst route
The National Park entrance fee is as follow:
Thai tourist: adult is 40 THB and children is 20 THB
Foreigner: adult is 200 THB and children is 100 THB
The car is 30 THB and the motorcycle is 20 THB.
The tenting fee is 30 THB/each person/each tent.
Traveling in the midst during the rainy season to this place is truly a happy route.
Happiness for everyone is different. When would you be happiest?
Some people are happy with brand name things.
Some people are happy with good and expensive food.
Some people are happy with luxurious car.
But some people are happy with content and just enough life.
And some people are happy just because they get to travel.

7. Vajiralongkorn Dam, Thong Pha Phum District
Vajiralongkorn Dam is formerly known as Khao Laem Dam. The dam lies across the Khwae Noi River at Tha Khanun Sub-District, Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province. It is the multi-purpose dam with the main purpose of generating electricity.
The dam is actually covering the area of both Thong Pha Phum District and Sangkhlaburi District in Kanchanaburi Province.
It's another beautiful dam. Do not forget to stop by when you are returning from Thong Pha Phum.
8. Noen Sawan Viewpoint, Thong Pha Phum District, Srinagarindra Dam National Park
This place is so good for tenting.
It has restroom and showering rooms. The checkpoint of the officer is also there but there's no shop around.
The service fee is up to you.
Just by seeing the sunset, it's already so amazing and exciting. If you are traveling here during the cold weather, you probably get to see some sea fog as well.

9. Everest Thong Pha Phum District
I really want you guys to try here. Yes, I didn't type it wrong, it is the Everest Thong Pha Phum.
I also just learnt that we have Everest here too. The base of this mountain is like an old mine tunnel. We must be on 4WD car, driving up through this tunnel. We can also have a 360 degree view.

10. River Kwai Bridge, Muang District
Here is the lighting week at the Bridge over the River Kwai or as we know as the Red Cross Fair. The event at the World War II would be stimulated here every year during the Red Cross Fair which is around November and December.
That's it. The 10 amazing places at Kanchanaburi which in fact is only a small part of it.
Kanchanaburi Province still has many more places awaiting for you guys to discover.
The experience can't be bought, you must travel to earn it.
