Learning to Make Wooden Handicraft - Sukhothai

So cool to get to connect with the villagers of Sukhothai and learn about their livelihood.

Today I learned how to make beautiful wooden craven from scratch!

I sat down with the family and learned a lot their lifestyle. This husband has been doing this work every day for my entire life! 33 years! That’s wild and amazing! But he says he loves what he does! It makes his soul happy 😊🙏🏼💜

He said every morning he wakes up and starts working right away, carving the wood into different shapes and designs. He says he works until the sun goes down. Many times he loses track of time but he loves what he does so it doesn't matter to him. This is what makes him happy.

His wife is the one that makes the actual designs on the wooden carving and helped me make my very own wooden carving.

This is the symbol of the bird of protection so having it in your house saves you from evil spirit and protects your home 🐦 I really really enjoyed making these designs and meeting this amazing family!
